Synopsis

After a major operation that led to the capture of Kafka Hibino, also known as Kaijuu No. 8, the Defense Force is unsure how to handle him. As the first kaijuu to ally with humans, Kafka is eventually transferred to the First Division, the strongest unit capable of tackling any threat. However, some remain skeptical of Kafka, and he must prove his worth in the next mission. Kafka and the First Division are soon sent to confront a massive swarm of ant-like kaijuu. With the help of his friend Kikoru Shinomiya and their captain, Gen Narumi, the mission seems to be going well. However, when Kafka is unable to transform into his kaijuu form, the terrifying Kaijuu No. 9 joins the battle with the sole goal of eliminating him and stealing his power. Despite the dire situation, Kafka must overcome his greatest challenge yet with the others if he wants to continue pursuing his dream of fighting alongside his childhood friend and Third Division captain, Mina Ashiro.
