Piercing I

In late 2008, the financial crisis forces many factories in China to close. Zhang Xiaojun, who worked in a shoe factory, loses his job. One day, a supermarket guard mistakes him for a thief and beats him up. Zhang seeks financial redress from the supermarket manager but is unsuccessful. He dreams of returning to his village and becoming a farmer, but before he can leave, the police arrest him. The supermarket manager also faces his own problems, and their paths cross in a teahouse near the city rampart on a moonlit night.
