Synopsis
Kanna refuses to move to a different shrine and leave her friends behind, so she escapes in the middle of the night with her loyal bodyguard Ryuuya and her confidant Uraha. Knowing their pursuers are close, the trio embarks on a journey to find Kanna's mother, whom Kanna longs to see after many years of separation. Amid the tensions, they explore the world outside the palace—serving as a peaceful yet temporary distraction from what lies ahead.
Background
Air in Summer was released on DVD by Pony Canyon in Japan on October 5, 2005. The company later released a Blu-ray disc box that bundled the special episodes on December 22, 2006. ADV Films published the special episodes on DVD in North America on November 27, 2007. Funimation included Air in Summer in the Air Complete Series DVD collection, which was released on April 21, 2009.
