Synopsis
Joe Shimamura and his friends appear ordinary, but they are far from it. Joe is Cyborg 009, part of a team of cyborgs who fight for justice. Each cyborg possesses unique abilities, such as melting materials, breathing underwater, and flying. They were unwillingly modified by the Neo-Black Ghosts organization to serve their agenda. However, the cyborgs united to use their powers against their former captors and all evil forces.
Background
Cyborg 009 (1979) is the first adaptation of the manga to be presented in color. In the 1980s, Fuji Television aired an English-subtitled version in certain areas of the United States.
