Synopsis
Makoto Naegi, an ordinary teenager, is surprised to be accepted into Hope's Peak Private Academy, an elite school for exceptional students. Despite his initial disbelief, Naegi enters the prestigious academy, only to wake up in an abandoned classroom. He soon finds his classmates in the gym, where they are confronted by Monokuma, a robotic teddy bear. Monokuma reveals that they are trapped and must participate in a deadly game to escape. Naegi and his classmates face a grim choice: play Monokuma's game or remain trapped together forever.
Background
The success of the Danganronpa games led to various spin-offs across different media, including an anime adaptation and Danganronpa/Zero, a series of two novels written by Tsuyoshi Kodakazu and illustrated by Rui Komatsuzaki, released in 2011.
