Denshinbashira Elemi no Koi

Elemi, a diligent utility pole, is one of many serving a small city. During maintenance, she is emotionally moved by Takahashi, the young man repairing her. She decides to thank him, calling him regularly while pretending to be human. As days pass, all the utility poles in the city become aware of Elemi's budding romance. Elder poles urge her to end it. Even if Elemi gains her society's blessing, she must still reveal her true identity to Takahashi. In an era before cell phones, when all calls were carried by utility poles, this story tells of the tragic romance between a utility pole and a utility worker.
