Synopsis
At 18, Chu Yuan faces immense pressure to prove his competence as the new emperor of Chu State, especially with the ongoing unrest at the borders of Chu and Xinan. However, Duan Baiyue, the young Xinan King, ends the rebellion himself, sparing Chu Yuan grief and earning the people's admiration. Two years later, Xinan's influence grows, sparking rumors of Duan Baiyue's intent to take over Chu State. As Chu Yuan stands before a winter plum tree, recalling a past promise, the tension reaches a breaking point when a visiting duke of Ahnu, an ally of Chu State, is found dead in the streets of Chu.
