Synopsis
Aira Harune, a cheerful yet clumsy girl, is suddenly drawn into the world of Prism Shows—a popular idol show based on figure skating where performers called "Prism Stars" wear outfits adorned with Prism Stones and execute stylish Prism Jumps. Enchanted by the dazzling fashion and impressive Prism Jumps, Aira aspires to become a Prism Star herself. She soon meets Rizumu "Rhythm" Amamiya, a passionate girl who dreams of performing the legendary Prism Jump "Aurora Rising," and Mion Takamine, a proud girl who aims to be the brightest Prism Star. Together, these girls embark on a journey filled with friendship, growth, and unexpected encounters. Can they achieve their dreams and become the next Prism Queens?
Background
Pretty Rhythm: Aurora Dream is based on Tomy Company Ltd.'s 2010 arcade game Pretty Rhythm: Mini Skirt. The arcade game was relaunched under the same title as the anime on April 28, 2011 to coincide with the show's release. The series' premiere was postponed from April 2, 2011 to April 9, 2011 due to the 2011 Touhoku Earthquake.
