Synopsis

After a negative school experience, Jun Sakurada isolates himself at home, spending his time ordering items online only to return them within the free trial period. One day, he finds a note on his desk asking if he would wind something up. Assuming it's from a recent purchase, he casually circles "yes," unknowingly altering his life's course. A package arrives containing a wind-up doll, but this is no ordinary plaything. Upon winding her, the doll comes to life, walking and talking like a human. With an air of superiority, she introduces herself as Shinku, the fifth doll in the Rozen Maiden series, crafted by the renowned dollmaker Rozen. These unique sisters must engage in a contest known as the Alice Game, aided by a human partner, with the ultimate prize being transformation into Alice, a real girl deemed worthy of meeting their creator. As more sentient dolls find their way into Jun's home and a rival from Shinku's past emerges, Jun's life becomes increasingly complex and unpredictable.
