Synopsis
An adaptation of a 1973 children's novel by Endo Hiroko, inspired by a tale her father told her. It follows 13-year-old Aki, who discovers a mistake in the sangaku during a pilgrimage to Sensou-ji. Her intellect gains attention, leading to her being hired by Arima Yoriyuki, the lord of the Kurume Domain, to teach arithmetic to the region's princess. Aki competes in a math competition against other geniuses, aiming to earn a wage to open a school for poor children.
