Synopsis
A father crab named Kanisuke and his son Kanitaro plant persimmon seeds in their garden, which they received from Sarukichi the monkey. A large sprout grows into a tree bearing fruit. Sarukichi picks a basket of persimmons and runs away. When Kanisuke follows him, Sarukichi throws persimmons at him, killing him. To avenge his father's death, Kanitaro consults his three uncles, Kurisaku, Hachinosuke, and Usubei, who promise to help. The uncles enter Sarukichi's house while he is away, and a battle ensues. Hanging Sarukichi from a spear, the uncles and Kanitaro return triumphantly.
