Synopsis
In the ancient Shakya Kingdom, King Suddhodhana learns that his wife, Maya, has a peculiar dream involving a white elephant with six tusks, a sign that their future child, Siddhartha Gautama, is blessed. The wise prophet Master Asita sees the child and predicts that he will become "chakravartin," the ruler of the world. Meanwhile, young Chapra suffers under the rigid caste system. When the Kosala army marches on Kapilavastu, Shakya's capital, Chapra plays a role in forcing them to retreat. To escape a life of slavery and improve his mother's life, Chapra joins the Kosala army and swears to rise through the ranks. As young Siddhartha grows, he is taught everything needed to inherit the throne. However, Siddhartha has no interest in martial arts or ruling a kingdom. He seeks the truths of the world and the meaning of life itself. Despite the Kosala's expanding power threatening Shakya, Siddhartha abandons royal life and ventures into the world to find the enlightenment he desires.
