Synopsis

After the devastation of Armageddon, an apocalyptic war, humanity encounters a new threat: vampires. The ongoing clashes between the species have divided the world into distinct factions. The vampire race, known as Methuselah, aligns with the New Human Empire, while humans, referred to as Terrans by the vampires, form the Vatican Papal State. Additionally, extremist groups like the Rosenkreuz Order aim to reignite war, despite the factions' efforts to prevent direct conflict. To counter terrorist organizations, the Vatican has established the AX unit. Under the leadership of Cardinal Caterina Sforza, AX agents probe vampire-related incidents, hoping that Terrans and Methuselah can eventually live in harmony. Among the AX unit is priest Abel Nightroad, who appears absent-minded but is gentle-hearted and a formidable vampire slayer in battle. His partner in the unit is Sister Esther Blanchett, a courageous and kind young nun haunted by a tragic past. As their bond strengthens, they start to reveal hints of sinister plots and dark forces operating in the shadows. However, their journey is fraught with misfortune that may compel them to face the memories tormenting their hearts.
