Synopsis
After losing his parents, Yamatarou, a bear, is raised by a man. His friend, Shi-roku, is a steam locomotive, and Yamatarou learns to mimic its whistle. This story, aimed at nursery school children, revolves around the friendship between the bear and the steam locomotive. The high-quality illustrations evoke a sense of warmth.
