Sinopsis

Over ten years have gone by since the Second Impact devastated humanity in 2015. As the world recovers, a small group becomes aware of the Angels, enormous hostile beings seeking to initiate the Third Impact and eradicate the remainder of humankind. Summoned to Tokyo-3 by his father, Gendou Ikari, teenager Shinji is suddenly immersed in humanity's fight for survival. Having been apart from Gendou since his mother's passing, Shinji assumes his father wants to mend their broken relationship. Instead, he finds out that he has been chosen to pilot Evangelion Unit-01, a massive machine designed to combat the Angels. Compelled to confront the relentless onslaught of humanity's greatest foes, the young boy becomes entangled in a scheme that could determine the ultimate fate of mankind.
