Sinopsis

With Koyomi Araragi and Hitagi Senjougahara having graduated, few familiar faces remain at Naoetsu Private High School. Among them is Suruga Kanbaru, who possesses the Monkey's Paw. When she hears rumors about a mysterious being known as the "Devil" who can magically solve any problem, Kanbaru assumes the rumors are about her and decides to investigate. She discovers that the Devil is actually Rouka Numachi, a former basketball rival from junior high who can no longer play due to a leg injury. Rouka offers free advice to those who seek her out, acting as a collector of misfortune and providing false hope to her clients. Although Kanbaru sees no real harm in Rouka's actions, she reprimands her for lying and heads home, relieved that she is not the cause of the rumors. However, she soon finds that her left hand has reverted to its human form, suggesting that she may have a reason to worry after all.
