Ashita no Joe 2 (Movie)

Half a year has passed since the tragic incident during Joe and Rikiishi's match. Joe believes he has overcome Rikiishi's death and decides to make a comeback. He successfully returns by achieving five knockouts through body blows. Joe is then given a shot at the national title by the boxing commission, aiming to bring him down. The champion, Tiger Ozaki, exploits Joe's habits and forces his corner to throw in the towel. Joe is hesitant to throw punches at the face due to what happened to Rikiishi. Youko, Joe's love interest and the owner of the gym where Rikiishi trained, recruits a world-ranked boxer from Venezuela, Carlos Rivera, to help Joe get back on his feet and pursue his boxing career to regional and world ranks.
