Synopsis
This four-minute comedy, titled "dull-edged sword," follows a samurai whose blunt weapon causes him to lose every battle against weak foes. In an attempt to examine his sword, he attacks passersby, but the townspeople fight back and overpower him.
Arrière-plan
In 2017, film historian Honchi Akihiko uncovered 35 feet and 11 frames of previously unknown footage, including new scenes. These scenes depict the masseur who defeated the samurai mocking him, and the samurai hiding in the shade of a tree while trying to kill the courier.
