Two rival car company executives decide to settle their competition through racing. Chairman Gapporin hires the top racer, Okkanabichi, while Chairman Misaki recruits the relatively inexperienced Riki Kazama to pilot the flying car, Machine Hiryu. This Tatsunoko production blends elements of Speed Racer and Time Bokan, featuring Riki's girlfriend Nana, the young mechanic Chuta, and a cast of comedic and glamorous villains. Early works from notable figures like Yoshitaka Amano and Kunio Okawara are showcased in this studio-style animation. Manga adaptations of the story appeared in various magazines, such as Terebi Magazine and Terebi Land. The racing theme was a popular trend in the Japanese animation industry at the time, as seen in the same year's Arrow Emblem.
