Sinopse
Uruno, um lobo inútil, está na estrada procurando um novo lugar para chamar de lar. Ele logo encontra uma floresta cheia de "animais inúteis"—ou seja, animais que não correspondem ao caráter usual de sua espécie. Após uma breve luta com o coelho fumante e mal-humorado, Usahara, Uruno decide que quer seguir em frente... mas muda de ideia ao conhecer Chiiko, uma garota guepardo desajeitada. É amor à primeira vista para Uruno, e após decidir ficar por ela, ele continua a esperar que, mesmo sendo um inútil, ele a conquistará algum dia. Isso é, se viver com os outros residentes estranhos da floresta—incluindo o coelho fumante mencionado, um unicórnio que bebe sake, uma águia míope, uma orca que não sabe nadar e um pégaso tímido—não o pegar primeiro.
