Sinopse
Desconhecido para a maioria dos humanos, um torneio bizarro é realizado para decidir o próximo governante do Mundo Celestial. Neste torneio, 100 Seres Celestiais conhecidos como "Candidatos a Deus" devem transferir seus poderes para um estudante do ensino fundamental de sua escolha. Os escolhidos então lutarão uns contra os outros, representando seus Candidatos a Deus. O vencedor deste torneio será premiado com o "Talentos em Branco"—permitindo que ele escolha qualquer habilidade única que desejar—enquanto o Candidato a Deus que ele representa obterá a posição de "Deus" e se tornará o rei do Mundo Celestial. Participando deste grande torneio está Kousuke Ueki, um estudante do ensino fundamental que recebe o poder de transformar lixo em árvores de seu professor de sala, Kobayashi. Apesar das preocupações de sua colega de classe, Ai Mori, Ueki embarca em uma jornada para perseguir seu próprio senso de justiça após testemunhar as pessoas ao seu redor usando seus poderes para fins egoístas. Mas, à medida que ele encontra usuários talentosos de poderes como Seiichirou Sano, Rinko Jerrard, Robert Haydn e Hideyoshi Soya, ele percebe que alcançar seu objetivo pode ser mais difícil do que parece.
