Sinossi

At first glance, Ibara Naruse and her friends Aoi Fukasaku and Taeko Nomura appear to be typical high school students. However, the streets they traverse, their destination, and their surroundings are far from ordinary. As they advance, the trio find themselves venturing deeper into a desolate version of Tokyo, devastated by a nuclear disaster 20 years prior. As part of the Dispatch 3rd Special Force Coppelion, known as the Health Care team, Ibara, Aoi, and Taeko are supported by the Japanese Ground Self-Defense Force (JGSDF) and Colonel Onihei Mishima. Their mission is to search the eerily quiet streets for survivors, who are then evacuated by the JGSDF's helicopters. As their work progresses, Ibara and her friends begin to question their own humanity—specifically, how they are able to survive in Tokyo without any protective gear.

Sfondo

Coppelion was initially announced to receive an anime adaptation in 2010, but the project was delayed after the 2011 tsunami that struck northeastern Japan caused the failure of a nuclear power plant in Fukushima.
