Sinopsis
Takeshi, a young elementary school student, cherishes his white dog, Shiro. Their days are filled with joy as they play together with Takeshi's friends. However, as the war intensifies, a police notice suddenly prohibits keeping dogs.
Fondo
During World War II, dogs in Japan faced severe hardships due to food shortages, leading many to be killed for food and their pelts used for clothing. The government eventually ordered the killing of all remaining dogs to prevent disease. Over 100,000 dogs were affected.
