Synopsis

Shinpei Ajiro lived with the Kofune family after his parents' death. After leaving his home island for education in Tokyo, he returns when Ushio, one of the Kofune daughters, drowns during a rescue attempt. At the funeral, his best friend reveals bruises on Ushio's neck, suggesting foul play. Shinpei investigates, but strange incidents continue. Disappearing people and unexplained occurrences lead Mio to recall a folktale about entities called "Shadows," which may not be mere fantasy. As the dark side of Hitogashima Island unfolds, Shinpei faces his grim fate to fulfill Ushio's final wish—to protect Mio.
