Synopsis

Humanity is on the brink of extinction. In a world blanketed by snow, water is scarce, and the last habitable lands are found at the base of gigantic Orbital Trees scattered across the desolate Earth. According to legend, a sage knows the secret to producing abundant water to save mankind. Ririha, the princess of Atland, ascends an Orbital Tree using an organic hot-air balloon, hoping to meet her country's savior. At the Canopy, an area resembling an infinite window of transparent ice, she encounters Kaina, one of the last men alive. However, she does not find the man she was seeking. Stranded and unable to return home alone, Ririha finds assistance from Kaina, who is eager to explore the surface world he believed to be empty. As Kaina learns about the war against Ririha's country and the technologically advanced nation Valghia, he realizes that his mission to escort her will be more challenging than he anticipated.
