Sinopsis
Tsuwabaki Daiya discovered a black fire in the ocean while out with his father. A massive monster emerged, causing his father and the crew to vanish. Just as Daiya was about to become the next victim, a giant mecha dragon appeared and saved him. Five years later, Daiya is a junior high school student. The monster reappears, and Daiya encounters the mecha dragon, "Daiku Maryu." The dragon's head separates, transforming into the body of a super robot, Gaiking. Daiya pilots Gaiking, battles the monster, and defeats it. He learns of an enemy plotting to conquer the world and sets off for another world, Darius, to thwart their plans.
