Sinopsis
This animated film consists of five themes selected from Tezuka Osamu's collection of essays "Essay in Idleness of Insects," where he compiled studies on insects. The collection includes both academic studies and literary conclusions with mysterious or mythical imagery. Each of the five essays is animated using different techniques, and each episode is followed by a scene featuring the young Tezuka Osamu and a swallow-tailed butterfly named "Oomurasaki." The film depicts the boy Tezuka Osamu chasing Oomurasaki with his butterfly net, along with his dream visions. This work was screened at the exhibition "Tezuka Osamu: Images of the Past and Future."
