Sinopsis
Middle school student Yoshio Kobayashi discovers his teacher mutilated and himself holding the weapon, initially shocked but secretly thrilled. With his friend Souji Hashiba, they aim to prove Yoshio's innocence. High school detective Kogorou Akechi investigates the crime and meets Yoshio, sparking mutual interest. Yoshio wishes to assist Akechi, and Akechi tests his resolve. Ranpo Kitan: Game of Laplace is a surreal mystery and horror anime featuring brutal crimes, loosely based on stories by Ranpo Edogawa.

Rampo Kitan: Game of Laplace is inspired by the works of author Edogawa Rampo, commemorating the 50th anniversary of his death in 1965. He significantly influenced Japanese mystery fiction, creating the recurring detective Kogoro Akechi, inspired by Doyle's Sherlock Holmes.
