Synopsis

As a child, Chihaya Ayase dreamed of seeing her elder sister Chitose become Japan's top model. However, after defending her bullied classmate Arata Wataya from Taichi Mashima, Chihaya discovers the competitive world of karuta and becomes captivated by the sport. Based on the Ogura Hundred Poets anthology, this card game demands excellent memory, agility, and endurance. Chihaya joins the Shiranami Society with Arata and Taichi, embarking on a journey to win the title of Queen of Karuta. Since middle school, Chihaya has grown distant from Taichi and separated from Arata. To improve her skills, she creates a karuta club in her high school, with the help of Taichi and a few enthusiastic newcomers, aiming for victory in the Omi Shrine's national championship.
