After defeating the baby-eater that plagued Chang'an, rookie Jianghu and swordsman Xiao Yao Sheng encounter a greater mystery. Their journey takes them to the distant Spirit Beast Village, where they meet the beautiful Demon Fox Girl, Bone Elves, and various inhabitants of rivers and lakes. They gain growth and friendship but become entangled in a crisis between immortals and demons.
