Synopsis
John, a cheerful and energetic young boy, lives in a small coal-mining town in England. One day, he finds a small dog lost in a flock of sheep and names her Lassie. They become close friends, but their happy life doesn't last long. A coal-mine owner closes his company, and John goes to request a further investigation. The owner accepts but takes Lassie to Scotland in exchange. Priscilla, the owner's granddaughter and John's friend, sets Lassie free, and she embarks on a long and hard journey back to her hometown.
