Synopsis
In the Ming dynasty, a legend speaks of an ancient deity's book covering various technical issues, including the unique method of manufacturing divine weapons with the power to destroy everything. The book was supposed to be kept by the royal family as a sign of their rule. However, during the Yuan dynasty, the Mongolians invaded and ruled the nation, causing chaos and the book's disappearance. It reappeared in outlaw societies, attracting forces to fight for it. When the Han people regained power in the Ming dynasty, the book was found and enshrined in the Imperial Palace again. But the outlaw forces, including the Hell-fire monk, Hua Daochang the thousand-face fox, and Duan Yun in white, plotted to steal it. One day, on the ghost festival, they sneaked into the Imperial Palace to steal the book, competing for the title of "the most famous robber." The hell-fire monk successfully stole the deity's book. The emperor then founded the Imperial Guards to catch the three robbers and retrieve the book. This is the story of Yuan Xiaotang, a young and inexperienced guard.
