OZ, a virtual world connected to the internet, has become a global sensation, offering a wide range of activities through customized avatars. Its robust encryption ensures the security of personal data transmitted through the network. Society has grown highly dependent on OZ, even entrusting it with tasks like retrieving the unmanned asteroid explorer, Arawashi. Kenji Koiso, a 17-year-old math genius and part-time OZ moderator, is invited by his crush, Natsuki Shinohara, on a summer trip. Unbeknownst to him, he is expected to act as her fiancé. Upon arriving at Natsuki's family estate, which is preparing for her great-grandmother's 90th birthday, Kenji receives a cryptic message on his cell phone from an unknown sender. The message challenges him to solve a code, which he successfully deciphers. However, little does he know that his mathematical skills have just put Earth in grave danger.
