Umi ni Ochita Tsuki no Hanashi

Synopsis

The moon, having fallen into the deep sea, awakens in the darkness. An anglerfish arrives. The moon recounts why he fell into the sea, but the anglerfish is too engrossed in fishing to listen. After eating a fish, the anglerfish departs. A shark appears next. He attempts to carry the moon to the sky but becomes too exhausted halfway and abandons the moon. Crabs arrive. They transport the moon to the beach, as they require the light of a full moon to lay their eggs. After completing their task, the crabs return home. The moon, left alone on the beach, is washed away by the waves and returns to the sea. The moon rolls down a hill and lands on a turtle. This ancient turtle, who should possess vast knowledge, is questioned by the moon about how to return to the sky. The turtle asks a ray in the sand to take the moon with him. The ray carries the moon and drops it into the deepest part of the sea. The moon sinks deeper and deeper. At the bottom of the sea, a massive fish resides. Enveloped in particles of light emanating from the fish's mouth, the moon surfaces and dissolves.
