Sinossi
Apfelland is a small but beautiful country bordered by Russia, Austria, and Germany. Vel, a boy living in the capital, Charlottenburg, helps a girl named Frid. She was kidnapped because a radium mine was found in her grandfather's abandoned mine. Various people gather there, including an American seeking profit, a Polish woman disguised as a man aiming to fund a revolution, and a ministry official from Apfelland plotting to align with Germany. Vel and Frida become entangled in their schemes and uncover the secret of the mine.
