Sinossi
After the events of Hakuouki, Chizuru Yukimura and the Shinsengumi are forced to flee Kyoto and sail for Edo. In the absence of their commander, Isami Kondou, vice-commander Toshizou Hijikata takes charge. However, Hijikata struggles with new leadership duties and a growing bloodlust, which also affects some of his subordinates. Kondou returns with orders from the emperor to defend the castle and renames their squad the Kouyou Chinbutai. As war looms, Chizuru follows the Shinsengumi into battle and continues her search for her missing father, while her bond with Hijikata deepens.
