Sinossi
In 2199, Earth is devastated by the Gamilas Empire's planet bombs, forcing humanity underground. The distant planet Iscandar offers a solution: the Cosmo Reverse System, capable of restoring Earth. The Earth Defense Force builds the Yamato, a cutting-edge battleship with an infinite energy engine, to retrieve this technology. The crew, including young talent and experienced veterans, embarks on a perilous 168,000 light-year journey to save humanity.

The series premiered in theaters alongside Yamato movies, with the first two episodes pre-aired on Family Gekijou in April 2012. The remaining episodes aired on MBS & TBS beginning April 7, 2013.
