Sinopse
No ano de 2977, a humanidade tornou-se complacente, com robôs cuidando de todo o trabalho e as massas pacificadas por mensagens subliminares. Os funcionários do governo se entregam a atividades de lazer como golfe e corridas de cavalos. No entanto, o Capitão Herlock desafia essa mentalidade apática, liderando um grupo de rebeldes afins a bordo da nave espacial Arcadia em busca de uma vida mais aventureira. Uma força misteriosa conhecida como Mazone invadiu a Terra, assumindo a forma de mulheres enigmáticas com capas que eliminam qualquer um que suspeite de suas atividades sinistras, incluindo Tadashi Daiba, que agora está em sua lista de alvos. Após a morte de seu pai, um cientista ignorado pelo governo e morto pela Mazone, Tadashi se junta ao Capitão Herlock e sua tripulação de piratas desordeiros para ajudá-los em sua missão de salvar a humanidade da ameaça alienígena iminente.
