Synopsis
In 1969 Tokyo, the future shines bright with advancements in technology, science, and industry. Yet, an unseen threat lingers in the shadows—mysterious "Invaders" have blended into society, their true nature unknown to the public. Only the clandestine organization AEGIS is aware of their presence. Tasked with combating the enemy in secret, AEGIS relies on those rare individuals capable of opening "Gates" to another dimension, the only means to truly vanquish the Invaders. Among its ranks is an elite unit called the "Gate Keepers," gifted with unique Gate-based powers, and humanity’s last hope against the relentless Invader onslaught. Shun Ukiya, an ordinary high school student living with his widowed mother and younger sister, stumbles upon a group of Invaders heading toward his home one afternoon. In a frantic bid to protect his family, he awakens his latent ability to open a Gate, unleashing immense energy. His newfound power draws the attention of AEGIS, especially that of Ruriko Ikusawa, a Gate Keeper and his childhood friend.
