Synopsis
In 1532, Esteban, a 12-year-old foundling from Barcelona, possesses a mysterious power to command the Sun to appear, earning him the title "Child of the Sun." Upon his adoptive father's death, Esteban learns he was rescued as a baby from a sinking ship in the ocean. The mysterious medallion he has always worn has a trace somewhere in the New World, likely originating from the Mysterious Cities of Gold. Esteban leaves Spain to find his parents and discover his identity. Along the way, he meets Zia, an Inca girl kidnapped from her people years ago who has the same medallion as him. Later, they are joined by Tao, a young Galapagos castaway and the last descendant of the Empire of Heva, an Empire said to have built the Cities of Gold. Following Coyolite, the shining star on their medallions, the three children travel through the unexplored New World, searching for the Cities of Gold and believing this path will lead them to their lost parents.
