Synopsis

A mission to find a missing person goes wrong when Kakashi Hatake is separated from his students Naruto Uzumaki, Sasuke Uchiha, and Sakura Haruno after falling into a trap. The trio is then ambushed by mysterious ninjas who capture Sakura, prompting Naruto and Sasuke to pursue them. As the boys engage in a perilous battle, Sasuke's troubling discovery about the mission does not deter them from their goal of reuniting the team and completing their task.

Arrière-plan

Marking the 10th anniversary of the Naruto manga's serialization, the spin-off premiered at the 2009 Jump Festa Anime Tour. It utilized the same CGI graphics as seen in the Naruto: Ultimate Ninja Storm game. Although the OVA's story is set early in Naruto's episode 19, it also includes a scene between two arcs of Naruto: Shippuden: the end of "Fated Battle Between Brothers" and the beginning of "Five Kage Summit," specifically from episodes 144 to 197.
