Synopsis

The newly formed singing group Wake Up, Girls faces numerous challenges on their path to stardom. With their inexperienced manager Matsuda, they must navigate the perils of the industry, including unscrupulous individuals and malicious gossip. As internal tensions rise and their manager's lack of experience becomes apparent, the girls must rely on their friendship and love of music to overcome the obstacles and survive in the competitive world of singing.

Arrière-plan

Avex Entertainment, in collaboration with director Yutaka Yamamoto and voice talent agency 81 Produce, produced Wake Up, Girls!. The series marked a reunion for Yamamoto, who worked again with scriptwriter Touko Machida and composer Satoru Kousaki. Avex and 81 Produce held open auditions for the voice actresses, with over 2000 candidates auditioning. The seven winners made their voice acting debuts in the anime, and their given names matched the characters they voiced.
